"MY STORY BEGAN WHEN I SAT ON MY DAD'S SHOULDERS AT THE FIRST EVER F1 GRAND PRIX IN MELBOURNE. I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE NOISE & SPEED. I GREW UP NEXT TO THE ALBERT PARK F1 CIRCUIT AND EVER SINCE THEN I'VE BEEN ON THIS JOURNEY AND I'M PROUD TO SAY I'M NOW LIVING MY CHILDHOOD DREAM!"
Dylan Young is one of only a handful of Australian racing drivers, who have been competing internationally recently on the Formula 1 pathway. After a successful 7 year stint racing racing overseas, he is set to return home to ignite his dream of becoming a Virgin Australia Supercars Champion!
Like Dylan, current V8 Supercar stars James Courtney, Craig Lowndes and Will Davison all had a shot at F1 before returning home to forge extremely successful careers.
Dylan personifies the Aussie battler. He possesses enormous hunger and drive, fighting the many financial hurdles that make the journey for Aussie racing drivers pursuing a career overseas a rollercoaster ride. However, Dylan’s relentless pursuit has seen him become one of Australia’s most marketable young drivers. He has successfully built a team of investors and Australian brands who together are sharing in his journey.
After a brief stint in karts, Dylan’s career progressed internationally to the Formula BMW Pacific Championship, following in the exact footsteps of current Australian F1 star Daniel Ricciardo. Dylan then raced in multiple Formula 1 Grand Prix support events in junior categories under the watchful eyes of F1 team bosses.
Dylan relished in the challenge of going up against the world’s best and managed to outclass some of the hottest talent internationally to stand on the podium at Formula 3 level in the MRF Challenge.
His international career in F3 has seen him race against some of the most famous names motorsport including his 2016 team mate Mick Schumacher, son of seven time F1 World Champion Michael Schumacher, Harrison Newey, son of Red Bull F1 designer Adrian Newey and Pietro Fittipaldi, grandson of F1 World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi.
Dylan’s impressive performances resulted in an invitation to test with the official junior team partner of the Sahara Force India Formula 1 team in their GP3 Series car.
Dylan is now 100% focused on attaining hometown success and is set on racing in Porche Carrera Cup Australia in 2018 and eventually becoming a Champion in the Virgin Supercars Australia Championship.
